You may use the License Lookup function at the Board's website to verify a license. The typical DME licensure is called a Medical Equipment Supplier in Virginia. It is not required for all DME suppliers, only for those that distribute Schedule VI controlled substances with no medicinal properties which are used for the operation and cleaning of medical equipment, solutions for peritoneal dialysis, sterile water and saline for irrigation, hypodermic needle or syringe, or medicinal oxygen
